ROCOR-STUDIES

Dear reader,

Regards from Northeast Georgia! I have been here since July 26. I gave presentations here about the past and present of our only seminary in Jordanville and, at the same, fundraise for my projects.

Yesterday, I served at St. Mary of Egypt Church in Roswell, GA, and was impressed by the size of this mega-church compared to the “regular” ROCOR congregation. The communicants lined up in front of the three chalices. And the parish consists of people of various ethnic backgrounds. This congregation has actively supported my work. Here you will find an account about its newly departed priestmonk, who has been dearly missed in Georgia: Fr. Alexander (Lisinchuk).

Continuing the ROCOR Studies' main mission of sharing crucial historical evidence with you, I am featuring here the materials pertaining to Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitskii) during the Second Hetmanate, Metropolitan Seraphim of Berlin and Germany on the invasion of the USSR, and St. John of Shanghai on the commemoration of Patriarch Alexis in China.

On July 31, I finished my “marathon.” Since August 1, 2024, I had been posting daily reflections on the history and theology of the Orthodox Church. Now I will be sending the new texts to my Patreon subscribers (https://www.patreon.com/rocorstudies) less regularly and will be “recycling” the best ones from last year.

My goal now is to turn my dissertation into a book within one year. Here is the link to read more about this project and how to support it: https://www.gofundme.com/f/turning-my-phd-dissertation-into-a-book

Thank you for your continuing interest,

Protodeacon Andrei Psarev
