Greetings from Jordanville!
|
I pray this note finds you well. This is the fourth week of Great Lent and I sincerely ask for your forgiveness for any errors or confusion, for scandalizing you in any way, and for any other “blind spots” that affected you but went unnoticed by me.
On January 26, my mother, Veronika, was admitted to hospital in Cooperstown, NY for what we thought would be a stay of several days… On February 28, she passed away there.
Due to technical stalmate with our newsletter service It is only now that I have a chance to send this update to you. The short articles featured below have been written for the “marathon” I have been “running” since August 1. I am referring, of course, to/This Day in the Life of the Church/, my daily reflections available to subscribers for $3.00 a month at:https://www.patreon.com/rocorstudies.
We don’t really have a consolidated structure in the Russian Church Abroad to support academic work. Therefore, subscribing to these daily reports is also a way to support my work and show your solidarity with promoting scholarship within our Church.

Thank you for your continuing interest,

Abbess Elisabeth (Ampenoff) passed away on this day in 1999. The following account has been written by Reader John M. Harwood: Something must be said of the Russian Orthodox Convent of the Annunciation which I have already mentioned in connection with Father George . This was established by Abbess Elizabeth (Ampenoff) in 1954. The Ampenoff family had lived in London …
